The Map

I have been feeling the guilt (again) of having my son be in school 42 hours a week (ouch). It would be a perfect world if I was able to spend my days with him...but when I hear of what he is doing/working on while away from us, I know he is in good hands. He enjoys learning and is excited to report on all the 'bigger' lessons he is learning. He has his Continents song memorized and recently brought home the Map (of the World)  he worked a week on to complete. The construction of the Map is done with puzzle pieces. First, he had to trace the World and then correctly place the continents to trace. Next, came the coloring and eventually, he will be doing his own labels. His coloring skills are impressive and he works diligently to not have any white-space left. Please note: he was not able to write the labels on the map, but did sign his name.

VERY impressive, Harrison! You should be proud! Mama and Papa, don't be so hard on yourselves. I'm sure it's tough to be away from him for so many hours in a week, but H is growing up to be a smart, sensitive, loving, and tenacious little boy because of it all. He is definitely an individual that others love to be around - and THAT is a very wonderful thing!

Lots of love! Lulu

My sense is that parents in general
feel something of what you are feeling; we want our children to be with us always, but in the moment they are off to school we realize that they have to go and grow and live life apart from us.

Harrison is indeed a gift, and his independent spirit is evidence of that.. Oh, how we love him. babi

His map is wonderful...I will keep it safe for you..I am putting it in a poster frame...That was so sweet he wanted BaBa to have it and tell him he made it for him...Sounds like they had a great time together..Luv to all Gramma G.

Wow. first of all, the maps are phenomenal. Second, I can't believe how big he's getting. What a fantastic little guy with wonderfully hard working parents. I love peeking in on your little family.

Wowser! Harrison, I love the blue, blue ocean that you made. You did a great job making me feel like I was an astronaut looking down on the planet earth.

Love, Hoppi
